Galveston Community Network (GCN) Mar. Monthly Meeting will be held at Noon Wed 10 March at Galveston City Hall Room 204 City Council Workshop. Lunch

Future Meeting topics (vendor demos, etc.) At
the Feb meeting we discussed three areas of emphasis for this year -
TIFF
Grant Punch List pending from the TIFF grant (list is below we will update each
meeting until everything is completed). -
Community
Needs Assessment. Doing an in depth
needs assessment for the community to identify needs, related to our area of
interest. This would help us
identify future grant opportunities and areas where we can help the community.
We established a sub committee of Joe Huff GC (chair), Mary Jo Singleton
GC, Gary Anderson Library. I will
try to get members of the community that are served by our efforts who are
willing to serve on the committee. Ive
asked Cecil Denney to serve on the sub committee also. -
Fiber
Connectivity. Continue to research
and plan for fiber connectivity between GCN members. We
also volunteered people for the spring meetings.

TIFF grant) -
Wireless
- Getting TAMUG remote sites up w/ connectivity to Mitchell campus
- Creating connectivity between TAMUG and CG (firewalls, routing lists,
etc.)
- Getting other member remote sites up w/ connectivity to organizations
central sites
- Getting connectivity between all members (firewalls, routing lists,
etc.)
- No Profit -
Establish
Non Profit 501c Corp, re-filed with the state as GCN, Inc. -
Establish
by laws and any other necessary paperwork -
Transferring
property to 501c -
Public Access workstations -
Transfer
final 2 workstations at TAMUG to Rosenberg Library Please
